Ten Minutes Away

For the woman who is hurting and still choosing to trust.

✦ ✦ ✦

Dear friend,

I missed our Saturday letter again, but I didn't want the week to go by without reaching out.

Mom is settled into a facility ten minutes from me, and I'm there often. She is still adjusting, and I'm grateful to be close enough to sit with her, hold her hand, and be present. Thank you for your prayers, your kindness, and the love you've shown us through this season.

✦ ✦ ✦

As I walk through this, I'm reminded of the hope I share in After the Ashes. We can be hurting and still trust that God is with us. We don't have to have everything figured out to lean on Him for the next step.

If you're facing something difficult, I want to encourage you the same way I'm encouraging myself: spend time in God's Word every day. Read it, reflect on it, and believe what He says above what you see, think, or feel. Our feelings are real, but God's Word is the truth we can stand on when those feelings shift and our circumstances are hard to understand.

✦ ✦ ✦

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

Psalm 119:105

Read that again.

✦ ✦ ✦

You don't have to read several chapters. Start with one passage this week. Pray over it, and carry its truth into your day. Let it remind you that you are loved, that God is present, and that He will help you through.

Thank you for continuing to keep Mom and me in your prayers. I'm praying that you, too, find strength and peace in His Word this week.

✦ ✦ ✦

He gave us a lamp, not a map.

One step. One passage. One day at a time.

Walking with you,

Your sister in the rebuild,

Kimberly
